Field Trips

Schedule  2021

Our  field trip committee includes Nancy Vicars, Bob Holbrook, Jimmy Woodard and Hal Yocum.

 

Field trips may need to be canceled or postponed due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.  It is always best to notify the leader that you plan to attend in case of delays or cancellations. Participants should always bring snacks and beverages to all outings.  In some cases, a sack lunch for all day events.

April 7, 2021 – Soldier Creek Industrial Park (SCIP)

Jimmy Woodard ( j.woodard@cox.net ) is going to lead a field trip to the Soldier Creek Industrial Park trails (in Midwest City) on Wednesday, April 7th. April 14, 2021 – Mitch Park, Edmond

Located along Covell between Kelly on the east end and Santa Fe on the west end. We will meet at the Mathis Skate Park parking lot at 8:30 a.m.

May 5, 2021 – Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Location: Meet at the Love’s Store at the Medicine Park exit off Hwy 44 (H.E. Bailey Turnpike) south at 9:00 AM.  Please RSVP

October 5. 7:30 am –9:30 am—Field Trip to Mollie Spencer Farm

October 9. 8:00 am—10:00 am—Public bird walk at Mollie Spencer Farm guided by OKC Audubon.

Molly Spencer Farm, 1001 Garth Brooks Blvd. (NE corner of Garth Brooks and Vandament St. in Yukon).  Parking is located at the school parking lot on the north side. The farm is not open to the general public outside of regularly-scheduled events hosted at the farm.

November 18, 2021 – Eagle Lake Park

Leader: Jimmy Woodard.  Location: 3405 E. Reno, Del City. Meet in the parking lot at 9AM. The park is located north of Reno Avenue about a half mile west of Sunnylane Road. The entrance is next to Insco Distributing between Burk Drive and Scott Street. There is a nice sign next to the turn in driveway but it isn’t all that big. You have to watch closely for it.
